Do outdoor copper hanging birdbaths work?
I am thinking of purchasing a hanging copper birdbath for the backyard and was wondering if anyone else had experience with them. Do the birds like them?
I haven’t owned one, but I’ve read and heard that birds like bath spots that are stable (don’t move). A hanging item would naturally have tendencies to move and swing in the wind. A standing birdbath is usually more condusive. Also birds like a place that they can see all around them to see if they are safe, and if it is hanging from something (namely a tree) they won’t feel secure since a predator (cat) could be in the tree and they wouldn’t know.
