How to keep alive sunflowers?
Im sunflowers growing in my backyard and I want to cut a rebate to put in a vase, but I can make in the glass of water to keep the flowers longer, I heard that copper coins help, but what else?
Change the water and make a further cut frequently (every day or two). Bacteria is the main cause of a short life of cut flowers. Copper has anti-fungal properties. We used to have a couple of coins in trays of water in our laboratory incubators. I have no idea if you are not good for cut flowers. Use old coins like the newer ones are mostly zinc-Brian
