Welcome Bird
How to capture bird poop?

I just got a cockatoo over a month. I like playing with him outside the cage. BUT, I do not like cleaning all the poop. My bird likes to sit on my shoulder and I hate to sit there, but I like to be exhausted. What can I do to catch poop? I thought of putting a towel around my shoulders but I think the poop just slides into the ground. All suggestions welcome!

You have some options. You can change when you get home, and wear old shirts you do not mind the junk in them, or you can train them to go in an area. There are flight suits that shit capture, but I will not leave this in your bird all the time. It is not a human baby, save face and not diaper. My parakeet poop on command. We did this by waiting until knew it was going to poop, then holding it in the trash, saying "shit" and then praise him after he does. Will the idea after that whenever he gets shit on a seed or a lot of praise. I also have an idea of when to stern, but not all birds are so obvious. You're on every 15-20ish minutes, and was worried a little earlier. When I know that's going, I'll take the trash or napkin / magazine / whatever and tell poop and what it does. It has reduced the amount of garbage on my furniture, clothes, etc. but we still have accidents. My sister in law has trained his bird actually fly back to the cage, poop, then fly back to them. I have no idea how they did it, but Im guessing its the "same positive reinforcement system. Good luck!

Welcome back! You ordered the chicken yet? Actually, before you get ordered this bantys or Rhode Iceland Reds, you have to be prepared! Wait She did not come until the birds to find out where you are going to halt. There is a lot of unnecessary stress for you and the birds! Preparation in this area certainly contribute to a successful poultry operation.

To begin, you must supply of adequate shelter for the chickens. You need to chance, how many chickens you have to carry your family, the demand for eggs to be determined. On average, a healthy, well-fed hens producing 1 egg per day. There are factors that these, such as weather, light, food, etc. So if you have the number of chickens, have noted, you can change the image that an average size Chicken takes about 1.5-2 square feet in the coup, and about 8 square outside to get

sufficient exercise. You will also have to pay 1 nestbox each with 4 hens deliver. That should give you a rough estimate of how large your needs coup. In addition to the construction or purchase of accommodation, you must make sure that that such protection provides adequate ventilation is "robbers" and proof is well lit. If you want eggs, you need good lighting! Their "outside" yard will have to be built not only in such a way as to keep the chickens to keep in, but to the predators! These include Predators, the cave, and those who fly. It is suggested that if you build your fence, bury the wire at least 6-12 cm deep, and toe the bottom of the wire, so that if "something to dig ', it will first hit wire. Additionally, you must provide a cover over the spout. In addition, remember Do not have a place for the birds, the "castle" in the coup for the evening snooze.

Of course you need the input and potions for the chickens. It is best to have the kind of systems that can be hung from the ceiling. These investors avoid the contamination of the birds feed. Chickens have quite a lot of water, so it is important to have waterers inside and outside the coup. Older chickens can drink from open bins or containers, but It's nice to have a waterer from a feed store, they also developed to keep chickens and poop out are clean water in. .. sorry, that's just a reality! Both automatic feeders and watering can make home-made and cheap. We have investors made out of coffee cans, jars and potions made with. Operating Your Chicken not have to cost a claw and a beak!

Well, the moment of truth! What kind of chickens should you buy? Really, it will depend on your Expectations and needs. Some chickens are dual use. In other words, they are good layers and are bulky in size, so that if their best Years are over with (about 3) for the seasons, they can be slaughtered for meat. Some examples of this type of chicken is a Rhode Iceland Red, Plymouth Rock, Golden or Black Sex-link, etc. Some chickens are more layers and are not so great. One example is the dwarf. These are small that the hens lay small eggs but they are wonderful birds and good "thinker". A chicken is a brooding, that are laid eggs and then they sit and hatch chicks.

This is good if you want to have your own hatchery! I also recommend the Buff Orpington chickens for this purpose. Many hens no longer sit on their eggs … it's been bred out of them! By the way, you must NOT a cock, so put your chickens, eggs … You just do not really want the kind of broody birds in this Case! There are many "exotic" birds on the type

Market. One that is very popular with the Araucana. These birds are the most for the creation the pink or light green / blue observed eggs. We had a couple of Araucana, and the novelty was fun. But I'm more interested in many eggs, and these ladies were a tendency to store their eggs, so I could'nt find! Anyway, there are many races, colors and arrays of chickens. Get a catalog and see for yourself about the many types of chickens. You will be amazed, and you will be able to choose the type of bird that suits your needs best.

My next Article about the increase in backyard chickens are about the increase in the hicks … whether they are by mail or in the local feeds gates.
