Birdhouse Do?
I'm making bird houses of various types of wood as white wood, pine and oak. I am currently using a jigsaw to cut wood. They are coming out pretty well, but I'm having problems to cut very straight lines. I use a carpenter's square, the clamp to the wood, and cut with the saw along the square. Is there a better way to reduce wood very straight? I was thinking of a miter saw, but these pieces of wood are 1 x 10, so that probably would require a sliding miter saw. Note that I do my woodworking at home, so I need something not too large. Any suggestions?
There are several ways to improve their work. As you do, one of the few portable table saws would do well. Without knowing the tools they have, their hard to give a reasonable answer, is not buying some tools for the job you want done. In the meantime, try this, draw the line, cut outside line, do not cut in line, then sand to the line. and your PC will be good and right.
Making my list for a bird-friendly garden this winter, if you say by how cold it was, how often the bird feeders need filling and the Number of suet cakes that are left here, was at this weekend a doozie. Snow, ice and all.
